Broadband Smart House

The Broadband Smart House, located in Armidale NSW, is a collaborative project to outfit a house to demonstrate the NBN opportunities available to ordinary Australian homes. The house demonstrates many of the real-world applications of the NBN, including home automation, remote health monitoring, video-conferencing, rehabilitation, education, remote business, sensor monitoring and environmental sustainability. The house will soon be open to members of the public to see and learn about the NBN, including workshops and live-demonstrations. Hands-on, functioning displays of relevant installations in a home suitable for a typical family of four will allow families to try out new technologies that they can take advantage of when connected to the NBN.
